We had so much fun running around Oliver Nature Park for this session with these cute kiddos! It's always exciting to capture them at this age... they are so busy and naturally curious. And I love how the little one was always giving me the stare down. haha! It was a pleasure to meet this family, and I wish y'all the best over the next few months!

The 'No Trespassing' signed loomed in front of the jaw-dropping expanse of lovely wisteria. At first thought, I don't want to be the cause of Mikala's first arrest. On second thought, we might make the papers, and all publicity is good publicity, right??
Mikala graciously drove down last minute one Saturday to model for me. We combined our closets to put together a boho styled outfit we both liked, and we hit the road. I had spotted a large patch of wisteria the day before, right at dusk. So I wasn't sure what to expect once we got there, I only knew I've always dreamed of shooting in wisteria.
After arriving, however, we quickly decided that it just wasn't the day for wisteria. Not to be deterred, I punched in Cedar Hill State Park in the GPS, and thankfully it was only minutes away. I've also wanted to shoot this location for quite awhile, so although it wasn't part of the original plan, we had a blast exploring the area. Mikala had never been to Cedar Hill or Mansfield before (I know, crazy), so it was new for her as well. And let me say... the light at the park is so yummy. 😍 Her floppy hat also added the perfect touch... I do love photographing a good hat and appreciate those who can pull them off. (Trust me, more people can than you think.)
Maybe the next wisteria spotting will go more smoothly. But I certainly can't complain about this session. Enjoy!

The cape was also handmade using green velvet that complimented the surrounding forest location. A big thanks goes out to my seamstress (Mom) for all of her hard work. And finally, my model’s ‘Emelyn in Brown’ boots by Joyfolie completed the look. Many thanks to her and her mom for helping make my vision a reality. She was perfect for the role, as you'll see.
Hope you enjoy this ‘Woodland Princess’ session as much as I loved creating it!
